Every Monday we provide you with our past weekend’s agenda to show you how to continue to do what you love on the weekend while using common cents.
Total Estimated Weekend Savings: $164.00
The breakdown of how I did it can be found below:
Some things to note about this weekend:
1. Sacrifice: There was a country music festival in town this weekend that James and I really wanted to go to. It was going to be $60 each for tickets and then another $10-$20 for parking and then another $15 to buy beer for pre-concert tailgating. We made the difficult decision to pass on the concert because it was not fitting in our budget and we hadn’t saved for it. It’s really hard to make those kinds of decisions, but it does feel good to have saved over $100 for one night! There are events that we will splurge on, but we will have saved up for them out of our spending money so we’re sticking within our budget. Maybe next year!
2. Changed Plans: We were supposed to have friends visit this weekend. They ended up not being able to come, but if they had, we would have spent a lot more money on going out to eat this weekend. When friends are in town, it’s hard to eat at home because there are so many local places you want visitors to experience. We would have spent about $70-$80 (for both of us) on experiencing Kansas City with our visitors.
3. Makin’ (Easy) Money: I had another www.dogvacay.com booking, but this time it was for a week and I traveled to the owner’s house to visit with, feed, and let her dogs in and out. It was an easy $140!
